Downtown Mesa Association / Clean Team Ambassador

JOB SUMMARY

This role will provide a high level of visibility at the street level and will carry out a wide variety of tasks to improve the overall appearance of the Downtown Mesa Association service district they are assigned to.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

CUSTOMER SERVICE - While on patrol will go out of the way to actively acknowledge pedestrians with a friendly greeting or identify visitors to provide directions, information, city information or recommendations.

MANUAL LITTER COLLECTION - Circulate through assigned work zone with a rolling can containing supplies and tools to take care of the following tasks:

  • Removing litter, fast food bags, cups, containers, cigarette butts and other debris on sidewalks, street gutter, and alleys.
  • Remove graffiti and posters from light posts, trash cans, news boxes and other public infrastructure. We look high and low for anything in eyesight that needs to be removed.
  • Pull isolated weeds from around the tree wells, the cracks in the sidewalks, and the vacant lots.
  • Damp wipe and straighten horizontal surfaces, such as trash can lids, news boxes and other infrastructure.
  • Power wash streets and garages with provided equipment

OBSERVATION - While on patrol be watchful for unwanted behaviors or criminal activity and report to Hospitality Ambassadors via two-way radios.

COMMUNICATION - Must be able to provide written reports of broken infrastructure, graffiti on private property, and provide a basic daily report of accomplishments and tasks completed.

PROFESSIONALISM - Must maintain a positive, professional environment in full compliance with applicable laws, regulations, policies, and procedures.

PHYSICAL ABILITIES

  • Must have the physical capacity to walk or navigate continuously during an 8-hour shift. As well as lift 40 pounds.
  • Must be able to work outdoors in all conditions with provided inclement weather gear.
  • Must be flexible - Our organization produces special events throughout the year including evenings and/or weekends.

Downtown Rendezvous / FOH-counter help-waitstaff

Great job for a parent with kids in school. No Nights, No Weekends, No Fridays, and No Holidays, closed from Christmas to New Years. The Rail-Metro stops in front of Downtown Rendezvous on the corner of Main and Center. Rendezvous is only open Monday through Thursday from 6 to 2:30ish 3:00. You have to know how to make change and write tickets, I DO NOT HAVE A POS SYSTEM. Right now there is only 3 of us so we do everything from mopping to dishes to taking out the trash. You have to be able to multitask, no really, the ability to do serval things at once. We have counter, phone and tables orders. 10 tables inside and 5 tables outside. ASU will be opening their collage in August which is in the front of the restaurant. We are the only full service breakfast building in downtown Mesa. Must have a few years experience with full serve restaurant, please not fast food.
