Join us to experience Cuban Artist Reynier Leyva Novo's METHUSELAH (2022), a virtual Monarch butterfly projection that follows a butterfly avatar along its journey from southern Canada, across the United States, into Mexico, and back again as part of the species’ annual reproductive cycle. This digital artwork will be displayed on the large exterior screen at the ASU Media and Immersive eXperience Center (MIX) in Downtown Mesa, in collaboration with MediatedX Research Lab, the Phoenix Art Museum, and El Museo del Barrio.

The piece will launch at sunset during "golden hour" at 7:13 p.m. on Friday, May 5, 2023, and will continue through May 14, 2023. The artist, Reynier Leyva Novo, will be present at the launch, giving visitors an opportunity to interact with him and learn about his work.

Come and witness this unique and mesmerizing display of art at Arizona State University's MIX Center, located at 50 N Centennial Way, Mesa, AZ 85201.
