This local gem has quickly become a favorite for pretzel lovers across the Valley, serving up warm, golden-brown perfection in every bite. Whether you're a fan of the classic soft pretzel with coarse salt or you're all about the bold flavors like jalapeño cheddar, cinnamon sugar, or their garlic butter parmesan, The Salted Knot has something that’ll make your taste buds do a happy dance.

What makes The Salted Knot so special?

It’s not just the perfectly twisted dough or the dipping sauces that dreams are made of (hello, beer cheese and honey mustard!). It’s the love they knead into every batch and the community vibe. The Salted Knot is the brainchild of husband-and-wife duo Maria Vassett and Chad Day, who turned a pandemic-era hobby into one of Mesa’s most loved small businesses. In 2020, with Maria’s work as a concert photographer paused and Chad working remotely from Mesa Community College, the couple began hand-rolling pretzels in their home kitchen. What started as holiday gifts for friends quickly gained momentum when Maria listed them on Facebook Marketplace. Soon, they were selling out four days a week, earning the affectionate nickname “pretzel pushers” from their neighbors. ​

Maria’s background in concert photography adds a unique flavor to The Salted Knot’s ambiance. The shop's walls are adorned with her photographs, creating a gallery-style atmosphere where customers can reminisce about their favorite bands while enjoying a freshly baked pretzel.
