Taj Mahal is a legend who transcended the blues by revealing their magnificent scope to the world. Taj Mahal is "[a] master of blues and folk styles...and a commanding singer with a raw, immediately recognizable baritone" (The New York Times), Sona Jobarteh is a singer, composer and Africa's first female griot kora virtuoso. Jobarteh is a deft innovator who "blends traditional music, blues and Afropop to impressive effect" (The Guardian).
