Cider Corps, the veteran owned and family run craft cidery in Downtown Mesa, will celebrate Pi Day with the release of a new pie-inspired hard cider and special hours for its taproom.

Typically closed on Mondays, Cider Corps will open at 3 p.m. on March 14 and at 3:14 p.m. will tap its new Brambleberry Pie Cider. On that day, the limited release will be available in 8-ounce pours for $3.14. Cider Corps will also have a 10-ounce Apple Pie Slushie available for $3.14. And for those who like their pies ala mode, neighboring Mesa business Novel Ice Cream will have ice cream bars.

Just like the mixed berry pie it is named for, Brambleberry Pie cider blends raspberries, blackberries and elderberries with pie crust spices for a delicious hard cider that comes in at a 6.5 percent ABV.

PI Day is a playful nod to the mathematical constant for the ratio of a circle's circumference to its diameter. That infinite number starts with 3.14 and so is Pi Day recognized every March 14th.
