Cider Corps holds its annual Memorial Day Ruck on Monday, May 25 following an 8-mile route from The Shop Beer Co. in Tempe to the Cider Corps taproom in Downtown Mesa. While a ruck is typically a long walk with a weighted pack, that is optional for any participant.
The ruck starts with a 7AM meet up at The Shop Beer Co. at 922 W. 1st St. in Tempe. The group will depart at 8AM and walk to the Ash Avenue Bridge at the Tempe Beach Park for a group photo. From there it will walk along the Tempe Town Lake on its way to Downtown Mesa.
The ruck is designed to be open and flexible for anyone and any fitness level. While many walk with a weighted pack, it is not required. The cidery follows in a golf cart with water and plans stops along the way for rest and refresh breaks.
