Don't miss out on the chance to see internationally acclaimed bassist Alan Lewine's new Phoenix Rising sextet, featuring HOWARD ALDEN, DENNIS ROWLAND, LOUISE BARANGER and Arizona's top players as they present a program illustrating how each generation of players had to subvert the dominant paradigm and reinvent music! Over 2 sets, hear the groundbreaking jazz hits of the last hundred years. Music from trad (Dixieland), the Swing Era, Bebop, Brubeck, Ornette, Trane and beyond with a 6-piece band. Phoenix Rising promotes the capabilities of people who might be perceived as having disabilities and has dedicated all of the net proceeds to benefit Ability360, Arizona's largest center for independent living, which empowers people with disabilities to live independent lifestyles within the community.
